Ever feel like peace is drifting away? Or maybe you're searching for peace and wondering where to find it.
I like acronyms. I created one for PEACE based on the Good News of the Gospel.
Paid
Eternally
At
Christ's
Expense
I can only create this acronym because of the amazing grace and love of God. I created an acronym, but God literally created His Peace through reconciling everything to Himself and making peace through Christ's atoning blood shed on the cross for the sins of the world. (Colossians 1:19-20)
I humbly thank God and Jesus because this gift of God's peace was created for us when we were far away from God and yet through Christ's death we are brought into God's presence as holy and blameless in Christ Jesus. (Colossians 1:21-22)
And so I ask again what's happening when peace feels like it's slipping away? Or like I can't find it. The apostle Paul addresses it in the very next verse. "But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don't drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God's servant to proclaim it. (Colossians 1:23)
As I just wrote the last verse number being 1:23 of Colossians. God reminds me of the 1,2,3 sequence. 1. Beholding God. 2. Believing His life changing Truth. 3. Becoming who He created and redeemed me to be.
Dear Lord, Help me to Behold You in amazement of Your love & sacrifice that brings our eternal peace. Help me to continually choose to Believe Your Truth and stand firm in it. Help me to Become Your unwavering servant reflecting You to the world. Peacefully. All for Your glory. Amen.
