SESSIONS FAQ
My Story
Q: How much does a session cost?
A: Our Integrative Prayer and Counsel Sessions are 50-60 minutes and the cost for these sessions is $72. Other services such as somatic services and group sessions vary.
Q: Is this clinical counseling?
A: No, Free to Be Ministries is not a clinical counseling provider. But rather, a team of trained leaders from all types of careers in the helping field (social workers, ministry leaders, pastoral counselors, clinical counselors, counselors in training, mental health coaches, trauma informed instructors, and more), that bring their unique expertise to our specific approach of Integrative Prayer and Counsel Services. All staff have gone through our extensive Free to Be Training and all ministry team members are under the supervision of licensed counselors.
Q: Do you take Insurance?
A: At this time, Insurance, as well as HSA/FSA payments are not accepted. Clients can pay for a session with cash, check, or all major credit/debit cards.
Q: What if I cannot afford sessions?
A: Free to Be is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We believe no one should be excluded from healing. We pride ourselves on making our services accessible to the community, by pricing our services at rates much lower than traditional counseling services, and even lower than the cost of care. If you are experiencing financial hardship, and our rates are still not manageable, you can talk with your staff member about considerations and options for payment, or applying for our Compassionate Care Fund coverage.
Q: Can I do couples therapy? Is that a higher cost?
A: Yes, several of our staff members specialize in marriage / couples therapy. The cost per session is the same as a one-on-one session.

Q: What are Somatic sessions and how do they differ from Prayer and Counsel sessions?
A: As triune beings, we believe true healing comes from that of the body, mind, and soul. While Prayer and Counsel sessions primarily focus on the mind and soul, Somatic sessions focus on the body. We offer programs like Trauma Informed Movement as well as Bowen Technique and TRE that provide opportunities for healing and freedom to come through focusing on body movement. Sessions like these may be great for those carrying trauma in their bodies, as they work to bring calm to the parasympathetic nervous system. Learn more here.
